Why do you think it is necessary to take a foreign language, in this case Spanish, to graduate from high school? "Because this country is very diverse and it’s basic for education, just like math is.”

     As a teacher, what do you see that students struggle in? "This question requires more than just a general answer concerning syntax or vocabulary. Students struggle with balancing taking seven courses at a time. Students also suffer from identity and often peer pressure issues. With this being said, students with finding the importance in certain classes, in this case the elective Spanish. Teaching native speakers, it is apparent that although students are able to speak the language, they are not able to proficiently speak, read, and write the language."

My Mentor  

My mentor is a knowledgeable person with so many interests in linguistics, preterite, and imperfect tenses. She has helped me to understand ways in which teachers grab the attention of students.

What I want to pull from HMP, is experiences in a real classroom from a teachers perspective, I also want to understand what is the most challenging theme for students to understand. ​
